Hey Jeff, I am thankful to you. You are a wonderful teacher. I would not have dived in since I was scared of deep water (though it was just ten feet). I could trust you with the waters and had the most wonderful sight, I always loved watching the sunlight dim through the water as we go in. Thanks a ton. I will definitely get the certification done. I am not scared anymore, I feel more comfortable using the diving gear and the tank. Thanks once again. Vijetha

I became a PADI certified diver in 1976. My instructors were strict, the classroom challenging, and my open water dive was on December 6th in NW Arkansas with snow falling! I decided to re-certify since I didn't really dive since 1978. I went to Maximum Scuba based on reviews I read on YELP! and they exceeded my expectations. Today, PADI certification is totally different due to computers and equipment. Carl, my instructor, and all the divemasters at Maximum Scuba were super-patient and very encouraging. I knew a lot of the stuff and since I'm in the medical field my questions were pretty in-depth. Carl knew every answer and gave thoughtful understandable responses. When I bought my equipment, Jeff spent time with me to understand my wants and helped to education me on what my needs were. He then matched me up with the appropriate equipment (which wasn't the most expensive!). This experience has turned an interest into an extended family. It's not a bunch of thrill seekers, but a group of people passionate about the sport of diving and desiring to educate students in a through fashion to ensure their safety. It's a great model. I see why Maximum Scuba receives such awesome reviews!

I am writing this to PADI Quality Management in review of my recent experience with Maximum Scuba in Houston, TX. I attended the school during the week of July 4-10 to receive my open water certification. I would rate my experience with them as excellent. The instructor for my course was Pat Keller. Pat is extremely knowledgeable in the technical areas of teaching as well as practical application of the classroom material. He not only made sure that we knew the information but his presentation style kept the class fun and interesting. During class he was patient when it came to answering questions and clearing up any of the students concerns. When it came to practical application of the classroom material, Pat was once again extremely patient on our initial trip to the pool. He took time to give each student personal attention and ensure that everyone was up to speed on the skills needed to be a good and safe diver. Because of my experience with Pat Keller and Maximum Scuba, I will definitely be returning to the school to continue my education as a diver and would highly recommend Pat Keller as the instructor to request. Sincerely, Darren Waddleton

I'd like to take a few minutes to write to you about my experience with Maximum Scuba in Houston, Texas, and even more specifically my instructor, Pat Keller. I too used to be in the retail/consumer industry and know all too well we tend to hear the bad experiences about 10 times as often as we hear about the good ones. I'd taken the class about 12 years ago through a man my father had located prior to taking a trip to Cozumel and diving. Time went by and I forgot most everything but reached a stage in my life I wanted to pursue it again so I decided to start over with the Open Water Diver class. I chose Maximum Scuba based on some reviews I read online, but to be perfectly honest location had alot to do with it. The dive shop is about 15 minutes from my house. From day one in the classroom I knew we were going to have a unique experience. Mr. Keller knew exactly how to deliver the necessary information to each member of our class. There were 7 of us total, including a 12 year old boy who thought 'Pat' was the coolest thing ever. It felt as though we were receiving a one-on-one session. His humor never overpowered the important nature of the information he was conveying. He took the time to work with each and every one of us, always assuring us he would "stay as long as he had to" to make sure we understood every piece of information we were receiving. Halfway through the week, I decided I wanted to pursue my Advanced OWD course and signed up to ensure I would have Pat as my instructor. The weekend at the lake was fantastic and by 1:00pm Sunday afternoon, every one of the 7 students in my class had decided to move forward with their Advanced OWD certification. As others have said, I too do not typically take the time to email/call/survey, etc. describing my experience, but in this case I felt it was the very least I could do. I plan to continue my diving adventures and studies and will be using Maximum Scuba all the way. Thank you, -William L. Forkner

Dear PADI, I do not take time to write about my consumer experiences good or bad, but Pat Keller is an exception. I was originally certified under Naui in Oct 1978 and after many year lay off from diving thought best to get totally re certified and plan to return to active diver status( I believe in re training every 33 years whether needed or not!!!!;-) . A close friend found Maximum Scuba off the internet and we got Mr Keller by luck of the draw. I am have been a full time professional speaker for over 25 years ( www.DavisSeminars.com / www.FitandFunny.net www.KangarooCarry.com ) and from my professional view feel Mr Keller is uniquely qualified to teach. He blends the right amount of humor to hold your attention and never lets the humor over shadow the serious tone of the sport. He is equal parts entertainment, education and motivation to be a better safer diver. He has a unique ability to relate the material to each student as an individual even though the 6 of us have as different backgrounds as possible from skittish about water to returning Divers like myself. After seeing many speaker / trainers as well as doing same for a living and his balancing act of teaching among our widely varied scuba class was / is impressive in the extreme. Scuba Instruction is a super delicate subject and Mr Keller has a delicate style that makes the material approachable. He is a professional standard you could comfortably use as a template for any other instructor in your program. While his outward appearance is casual and easy; the deeper teacher part is as focused as skilled. So as stated earlier I don't have time or desire to whine or praise many services, but my time with Mr Keller warrants up chain kudos in my opinion. I truly feel my scuba instruction was of the highest caliber at any price and reflects well of the PADI standards. Just finished the open water course this weekend and it felt great! The whole crew makes learning everything a breeze and fun. The schedule is VERY flexible and they will do anything possible to accommodate your needs. Overall I couldn't be any more satisfied with them and would recommend them to everyone. No pressure is put on you to purchase their equipment and all gear is supplied for the class.

I have to say that Maximum Scuba is an awesome dive shop. Their all inclusive classes make it easy for you to go and try out scuba diving before you start buying all the equipment. All of the other shops that I called said you had to buy the equipment first. As a beginner, I did not want to buy equipment until I knew I was going to like it. Well I have to say I love it! I am not sure that I would have fallen in love with diving if it wasn't for the wonderful instruction and comraderie that I felt at Maximum Scuba. From the moment I walked through the front door, they made me feel welcome and comfortable. They also offer student discounts on all equipment. They are honest and their prices are great. Their enthusiasm and passion for diving make every dive exciting and fun. I highly recommend Maximum Scuba to everyone! I am going to continue on to become an instructor myself. Thank you Maximum Scuba!
